Joining the League
If you would like to join the Herefordshire Netball League, the easiest way is to contact an existing team or get in touch with the league committee.
We are always happy to help new players find a team that suits their level and experience.
Umpire
Umpires play a vital role in the Herefordshire Netball League, helping matches run smoothly and supporting the development of players across the league.
Umpiring is a great way to stay involved in netball, improve your knowledge of the game and support the wider netball community. We welcome both experienced umpires and players who are interested in learning more about officiating.
If you are qualified or working towards a qualification, we are always looking for umpires to support league fixtures. We aim to provide regular opportunities and a positive, respectful environment.

League Umpire Requirements
Each team entering the Herefordshire Netball League must have access to an England Netball qualified umpire. New teams are given a 12 month period to allow time for a player to attend courses and gain a qualification.
Further details can be found in the league constitution.

Socialise
Herefordshire Netball League isnβt just about matches. Throughout the year we organise social events that bring the league together, including tournaments, awards nights andΒ the occasional pub meet. We also hold relaxed end of season get-togethers, such as our end of winter league evening with tea, coffee and cake, giving everyone a chance to catch up off the court.
Awards Evening 2025
Our annual Awards Night is a chance to celebrate the teams and individuals who have stood out during the season. The most recent event was held at Gordon Bennetts and included a hog roast and an evening of recognition for players, coaches and umpires across the league.
End of Summer League Tournament 2025
At the end of the summer league we host a friendly tournament, bringing teams together for an evening of competitive and enjoyable netball. The event is always well supported, with teams playing a series of short matches and plenty of great netball on show.
We are also very grateful to the umpires who volunteer their time to make the tournament possible. It is always a brilliant way to round off the summer season and celebrate the league together.
End of Winter League Social
At the end of the winter league we host a relaxed social evening for players to catch up and celebrate the season. Our recent event was held at Point4 and provided tea, coffee and cake for everyone courtesy of the committee.
It was a great opportunity for teams from across the league to spend time together off the court and mark the end of another winter season.
HNL On Tour
During one memorable trip, players had the chance to meet a well known netball player while attending an event together. It was a great moment for the league and a reminder of the wider netball community we are part of.
Awards Night 2024
Our 2024 Awards Night brought together around 60 league members for an evening celebrating the achievements of players and teams across the season. The event recognised individual performances, team progress and the contribution of those who support the league.
